-Having friends within walking distance
-Nights out that don't end until the sun comes up
-Food-I'm having serious cravings for jamón serrano, tortilla, and pintxos
-My private lesson students, even the naughty ones
-Easy travel
-Tuesday morning tostadas at Bar Gredos
-Watching Athletic Bilbao games in a packed street
-Seeing the mountains everywhere I look
-Being a short metro ride to the beach
-The teachers and students at my school

Ahh, that was a fun night (and made for embarrasing pictures)! That was a fun trip, despite all of the rain.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that you've been missing Spain a lot lately--here's to finding a bit of Europe in the midwest :)
I know, it was so fun! Hope you're having fun in Spain for me, chica!
DeleteGosh I didn't even realize it was you in the picture at first! Hahaha!
DeleteI understand you so much -- all last year I was missing Spain! Now I'm missing the US. As Kurt Vonnegut said, "So it goes."
Yeah, that's really how it goes, huh? Towards the end of my time I couldn't wait to get home. Although I think this snow/cabin fever is really contributing a lot!
DeleteSo wish you were still here so we could meet!
ReplyDeleteI know! Gutted we kept missing each other...one of these days! Meanwhile, I'm glad you're keeping País Vasco relevant in the blogging community!
DeleteDiossss that picture of Megan is proof of a good night!!
ReplyDeleteHa, I know! Sorry Megs...but it was the only one that was somewhat appropriate!
DeleteLiz, I was in Bilbao once (for a day), but I loved being able to see the mountains everywhere. I can fully understand missing that. I miss seeing mountains now being in Wisconsin, which as you know is essentially mountainless. I really have enjoyed your blog! I've applied for the auxiliar program for next year and have Pais Vasco as one of my preferences. Hopefully I get it!
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm glad PV is one of your choices! It really is a great place to live.
